Day and Night (film)
Day and Night is a new film by Ben Page following two very different riders as they take on the 2018 TransAtlantic Way race. The film is a celebration of long distance, self-supported bike racing, and features the stunning landscapes and the diversity of participants that characterize the event.
Ben Page, around-the-world bikepacker and author of a brilliant new story in issue 01 of The Bikepacking Journal, just released a new film. Day and Night follows the TransAtlantic Way race from the perspective of two very different riders, Björn Lenhard, a competitor who won the 2,252km race in 5 days, 3 hours, and 38 minutes, and Tomy Mulledy Garcia, an adventurer who was riding to “get to know a country in a way that others never will.”
As Ben put it, “I couldn’t have imagined two more contrasting, yet equally receptive characters to film. Tomy is a young, wild and whacky bike courier who is taking on his first ultra race and Bjorn is a grounded experienced endurance racer. He competes in these races during his holidays and is widely considered one of the best in the sport. Both were really willing to open themselves up to the camera and allow me to film some fairly intimate and personal moments which made the film what it is.”
