Matt Broshat, a young cyclist from Minneapolis, just finished riding his bike around the perimeter of the United States. Matt rode 11,075 miles in 176 days, raising $30,000 to support children with disabilities. Here are the details on his ride, gear, and a selection of photos from along the way…

I stumbled upon Matt’s #PedalthePerimeter adventure on Instagram back in early January, and was quick to reach out to get some more details on his ride. Matt was excited to share his story and cause, and we’re happy to announce that Matt’s 176-day journey around the perimeter of the United States came to a successful end on January 30th in Portland, Oregon. In total, Matt rode 11,075 miles through 31 states, three countries (the US, Canada, and Mexico), and raised $30,000 for Young Life Capernaum, a ministry that supports kids with disabilities.

He was able to find hosts along the way, spending 143 of his nights with previous acquaintances and other supporters of his journey. Matt spent 27 nights camping, a week’s worth of nights in motels, and had a monthly budget of $1,000. He also packed in 51 rest days and climbed 268,557 feet.
