For Collective Reward #030, we commissioned New Zealand-based artist Matty Waudby to hand stitch three one of a kind “Pedal Further” hats for us. We’ll be giving these wearable works of art to three lucky members of our Bikepacking Collective. Winners will be drawn on Wednesday, don’t miss out!

We’ve loved the quirky hand-stitched hats made by artist Matty Waudby since we first saw them years ago, so we were thrilled when he brought up the idea of doing a few custom pieces for us. And for Collective Reward #030, three members of our Bikepacking Collective will receive a one of a kind hat featuring “Pedal Further,” the motto of The Bikepacking Journal, alongside original artwork by Matty.

Some words about the design from Matty: “I wanted to come up with something fun that was an interpretation of my idea of bikepacking. I figured wheelies are pretty great, and we all love mountains (especially the downhills!), and the rest fell into place. They still look a bit shiny and new for me and could do with some sun-bleached patina, but I’m sure the lucky winners can add that!”

Pedal Further Hat Details:

  • Sewn on an AScolour Finn 5-panel hat
  • One size fits most
  • 100% cotton
  • Low profile design
  • Gets better with age!
