The 2018 A-Cross The 5 bikepacking race took off on August 19th and we wanted to share the official recap video and some quick stats about this year’s race. For those unfamiliar with the event, A-Cross The 5 is a 1,200 km bikepacking race that crosses through five countries: Belgium, France, Luxemburg, Germany, and the Netherlands along 95% off-road trails. Although Lieven Schroyen’s 2017 record of 4 days, 6 hours, and 23 minutes wasn’t topped (partially due to a longer route and more technical riding this year), the event saw a huge increase in riders. There were 25 finishers compared to just 9 the previous year, with 20 scratching on route this year.

Lieven Schroyen took first place again, with a time of 4 days, 12 hours, and 13 minutes. Jean Rogelet took second with a finish time of 5 days, 8 hours, and 8 minutes, and Javier Simon followed closely behind at 5 days, 11 hours, and 13 minutes.
