XDUROScotland is a 2 day self-supported gravel ride from North to South Scotland. The route is based on the Badger Divide route which masterfully links several existing routes with one another to create a direct line, >90% off-road and rideable on adventure/gravel bikes, down the heart of Scotland from Inverness to Glasgow, cutting glen after remote glen.
The XDURO format combines the best aspects of road, cyclocross and MTB enduro. 5 timed segments over the ride, lowest aggregate time ‘wins’ (hint: there are no entry fees, no prizes, no support). The timed segments are designed to test both rider and equipment on a variety of surfaces over mixed terrain.
Last year the lead riders completed the timed sections in just over 5 hours, leaving lots of time for socialising on the non-timed bits.
Since routes and timing are done through Strava, the event is run for free. Entrants just need to sign-up, turn-up, and take responsibility for their own actions.
