Founded by Mike Hall in 2013, the Transcontinental Race (TCR) is an annual, self-supported, ultra-distance bikepacking race across Europe. The route varies for each edition, but participants are free to choose their own route between the mandatory checkpoints.

Returning to the original concept of a race across a continent the seventh edition of the Transcontinental Race will feature coastal start and finish locations rich in cultural and historic significance. In a twist long considered by race organisers this edition of the race will start on the Eastern edge of Europe and finish in the West offering riders a fresh perspective on the diversity of landscapes and cultures across the continent.

Registration is expected to take place in Burgas, Bulgaria on Friday 26th July 2019. The race is expected to start either late on Friday 26th or early Saturday 27th July 2019.

The finish will be located in Brest, a beautiful and historic harbor on the western extremity of France. Since 1891 Brest has served as the midpoint for the historic 1,200 km Paris – Brest – Paris. Follow the live tracker here:
