Sibillini Bikepacking 2019

After the success of the Marche Trail, the 1st edition of the Sibillini bikepacking was presented, the first bikepacking event “Unsupported MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE” in the SIBILLINI MOUNTAINS Park.

The trail (roughly 145km 4500 d+) it’s a specifically revised version of the “Grande Anello dei Sibillini” (GAS). About 90% of the itinerary is on mule tracks and mountain trails of medium technical difficulty. A single journey to discover the four sides of the Park: Magical, Sacred, Historical and Blassomed.

In the last years, the Sibillini Mountains captured the attention of various national and international magazines. In 2016 the british Guardian entered the Sibillini mountains between the best destinations in Europe. Before that, the prestigious Red Bull magazine indicated the Grande Anello (Big Ring) of the Sibillini as one of the 10 trails to do once in a lifetime.

The welcome briefing will be held the afternoon before departure at Lake Fiastra, with a tasty aperitif on the beach. Quiet and cozy place where participants and their families can find accommodation.
The departure is scheduled on May 25 from Visso, home of the Park and symbol of the earthquake of 2016.

The participant will receive the GPS track and will have to follow it from start to the end.
Everyone is free to organize their own journey independently. There is no time limit. The challenge is not against others, but only against oneself.

There are those who leave only with a jacket and sleep for a few hours on a bench and those who leave with a fully equipped bike, sleeping in a tent or in a comfortable mountain hut. You can pedal at night to enjoy the light of the stars and sleep when you want, but also stop when you find a landscape to take your breath away. There is no race, the important thing is that you arrive

The event is in the calendar of MSP 2019 that collects all the major event of bikepacking in Italy and abroad.
