La Baroudeuse is a self-supported weekend bikepacking event that explores France, the Maritime Alps, Le Verdon and Italy between Ligurie and Piémont. La Baroudeuse is a bikepacking event that focuses on the adventure rather than the time it takes riders to complete it. There are four route options: La Minus (90km) La Nimbus (137 km), La Maximus (317 km) and La Augustus (which will measures between 800 and 999 km) but both set riders up to explore France by the Parc National du Mercantour, Les gorges du Verdon, the Maritime Alps and, Italy between Ligurie and Piémont. With the Augustus, you willl have the chance to climb the highest road in Europe: Le Col de la Bonette!

The route alternates between pavement and off-road, 30% and 70% respectively, and although the event is not officially timed it is expected that all riders will finish by the 14th of July 2018. You have the possibility to sleep the Friday night before the departure at La Turbie : it’s free for those who have a sleeping bag like a good Baroudeur, and there are showers available at the start and finish of the ride.
