Lars Henning

Tour In Tune

Bikepacking Routes Ambassador

Lars found his bike legs in the Pacific Northwest following his Dad’s wheel aboard his 1990 Trek Antelope. This soon led to amateur XC racing in his teenage years, but after moving to England to study for a degree in Music and Sound Recording he traded his gears for headphones, mixing desks and British ale. A few years later he rediscovered trail riding in the Chilterns and the obsession was back; it was a total relapse.

After getting burned out on working life, he was lured into a trip by his partner Jenny, who dangled the bike carrot as a guise for her own restless travel bug. They spent over a year cycling the backroads (with far too much gear) from Mexico to Colombia, capturing their journey on tourintune.com with words, photos and Jenny’s songs.

With a serious queue allergy and a strong preference for the unbeaten path, his recent transition from bike touring to bikepacking was a natural one. You’ll generally find Lars riding or bivvying around the UK, even when work and weather try to get in the way.
