Hannah Maia

A fan of mountain biking since 2006, Hannah was talking about bicycle touring long before she actually gave it a go.

Her first attempt, in 2012, was supposed to be an overnight bivvy into the Peak District in the UK. The weather was more than a little iffy and she returned home as soggy as a wet dog with route aborted. Her second attempt, riding from coast to coast through Wales, wasn't much better and resulted in a torn knee ligament, DVT and some time in hospital. Her third attempt was more successful and her fourth was a most brilliant time exploring the full length of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route with husband Patrick on their honeymoon. She chronicled the journey along the GDMBR in a short film called Megamoon. Hannah loves to be behind a camera and is also known as the head honcho of Maia Media, a production company with a love of outdoor adventures and a fondness for trying new things.
